A private vault for the whole family

Keep it
in the house.

One quiet box for the papers and pictures your family keeps. Ask it in plain words. You buy it once. There is no subscription.

The box on Matt's desk in Oceanside. This is his desk, not a customer home. A family photo goes here when someone says yes.

The vault

Everything the house keeps, in one place.

Snap it with your phone or drop it in the scanner. The box reads it, files it, and remembers it, from the water bill to the first thing your youngest ever drew.

The Ask the House box on a wooden shelf
Show me my daughter's drawing from last week.
Here it is, added Tuesday, filed under Artwork.

An example of the kind of question the house answers. Real family stories will go here once a household gives written permission.

Every drawing, every report card, every photo, ask the house.

Inside the box

The Ask the House box on a wooden shelf

Bills and warranties.

Utilities, receipts, and the booklet that came with the washer. Snap them. The box files them.

Certificates and records.

Birth certificates, deeds, the papers you only need twice a decade — kept in the house, not in a tab.

Drawings and report cards.

Fridge art, essays, the year your youngest learned to write their name. Ask for them in plain words.

Then the house can speak.

Once the shelf is trusted, the same box can help with the family website. Vault first. Agents later.

Try the vault

Open a sample house.

The Harbor family is fictional. Avery, Jordan, Remy (8), and Quinn (12) share one household shelf of bills, certificates, artwork, schoolwork, photos, family history, and warranties. Every file below is a labeled sample.

Swipe the names, or tap one.

Ask the house

Try a question.

Four canned questions. Each one opens a Harbor sample already on the shelf.

How it works

Set up once. Ask forever.

Buy the box

Start with Vault. Add the website job later if you want it. One purchase, and it's yours.

Matt installs it

He sets it up in your home, wired in and tested, and walks you through it.

Phone access

Your family reaches the house privately from their phones, from home or away.

It updates itself

Routine updates apply on their own. Anything that would change what it can access waits for you.

Just ask

"When does the car warranty end?" Plain words in, the answer and the original out.

Privacy

Private by design.

Your family's memories stay in your house. The box answers to you.

Two jobs, kept apart

The vault and the website helper run separately. The website side cannot see your family's files, and the vault cannot reach publishing accounts.

A human gate

Routine updates install on their own. Anything that would change what the box can access waits for your approval on your phone.

It stays yours

Encrypted storage in the house, a log of every action, and one-tap rollback if an update misbehaves.

It maintains itself.

We set the box up to keep itself current. You can switch to updates only when you ask for them. Ownership means the house keeps running without a subscription tether.

One box

Start with the vault.

Two one-time costs: the hardware and the in-home install. You own the box. It keeps running without a monthly fee.

Start with the vault. After the house is trusted, the same box can take on a second job: keeping a website current. That is Vault + Web, not a different product.

All prices are drafts and will change before launch

No monthly fees. No subscriptions. You own it.

Questions

Plain answers.

Where does our stuff live?

On the box in your house. You ask it from a phone, but the documents, photos, and drawings stay at home.

Who can ask it?

The people you add. You decide who in the family can reach the house.

What if the box dies?

The install includes a simple recovery card and a local backup plan. Exact backup hardware is still being locked before paid installs. If the box fails under warranty terms we set at sale, we replace it. Those terms are still open.

Why is there no monthly fee?

You own the box. It is not a cloud account. You pay for the hardware and the install once.

What does “draft price” mean?

The numbers on this page are working ranges, not a quote. Final prices will be set before anyone is asked to pay.

Do you come to my house?

Yes, for the first run around Oceanside and nearby North County. The reserve form asks for your town so we can say yes or not yet.

Neighbors

If a family we installed sent you.

Tell us their first name on the form. We will thank them. A formal thank-you for referrals will start after the first homes are in and a reward is chosen. We will not invent one here.

Early access

Reserve a visit.

First boxes are for homes near Oceanside. Leave your name, email, and town. Matt will reply to schedule a conversation, not to charge a card.

This is a request to be contacted. It is not an order. If something goes wrong, email hello@ask-the-house.com.
